Hi, I’m EC!

I am a graduate student at the University of Memphis working towards my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will graduate December 2026. I am a counseling intern with GBS, planning on pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider (LCP-MHSP).  As a graduate level intern, I am able to offer discounted rates for individual, group, and family therapies.

I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents and young adults as they navigate life stressors. My counseling approach is grounded in strengths-based and evidence-based practices. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS). My goal is to meet people where they are and to build upon the foundation that is already there. I help individuals to build skills and tools to manage daily life challenges and to overcome struggles with resilience and grace. I provide a strengths-based approach where individuals are able to thrive in a space to be their true selves; focusing on growth, skills-building, and reaching an individual’s goals.

I have my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh as well as a near complete Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis. I have clinical experience working with adolescents and youth from diverse backgrounds in a partial hospitalization program (PHP) as well as in a residential setting, helping overcome challenging life transitions and managing emotional difficulties.

One impactful experience in my counseling career was in my role as a clinical intern at Youth Villages. In this role, I supported adolescents as they learned to manage their traumatic experiences as well as overcome their challenging behaviors in order to set them up for a bright future. Getting to see one of my clients discharge and return to family made a huge impact on me and reminded me of why I wanted to become a counselor to begin with.

Sports are also a huge part of my background and have truly made me the person I am today. Prior to graduate school, I was a student-athlete at the University of Pittsburgh where I played softball. There, I learned how to collaborate with others while also putting my needs first. However, I struggled with my mental health during undergrad which led me to seek counseling. That experience allowed me to see a future in counseling for myself.

Outside of work, I am likely to be running with my friends, trying new restaurants with my family, or sitting on the couch hanging out with my two cats. I love being on the go and soaking up as much outside time as I can.

I would be honored to work with you towards your goals and helping you to create a life worth living.
